HELLO RUSSIA, HELLO CHARLY HAUB: A Russian coup and a missing German billionaire – yes, you’re Eavesdroppin’ on the Spies episode that has nothing to do with spies!
After some minimal excitement about the Eurovision song contest and some chatter about Michelle’s new laugh, Geordie launches into a story about the time she visited Russia. PSYCHIC DETECTIVES: Forget Magnum PI: this is Eavesdroppin’ PI! This week, we take a look at Psychic Investigators, aka Psychic Detectives, aka Psychics Who Help Solve Crimes, and check in on a few stories where clairvoyants have cracked the case… All this after a quick recap of The Music Episode, where Geordie questions whether including Little Brown Jug in the Music Episode Playlist on Spotify was a good idea 🤣… She then reveals that Sandra wasn’t part of the Nothing Compares Teeerrrrr Yuoooo sob-fest at Victoria Station and Michelle talks about fingerless gloves and Madonna’s Boy Toy belt (even though she says Toy Boy 🤣🤣).
If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the swingers scene in suburban Greater London, Geordie reveals how she now has the lowdown after her friend Nina sent her to a dogging-lovin’ mechanic. Top Tip: If you’re looking for a ‘wellness spa’, head on over to Bristol Gardens in Brighton (nudge nudge wink wink).
And then it’s on to Psychic Detectives! Geordie kicks off the episode with a look at the Soham Murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman and how the amazing Dennis McKenzie used his psychic powers to help the police. His abilities truly changed the course of this case and his accurate visions, predictions and information cannot be put down to mere coincidence – listen to hear how this psychic investigator helped put the killers behind bars.
Then Michelle weighs in with some info on a psychic detective called Fia Johansson, aka The Persian Psychic, aka the Subconscious Mind Surgeon, aka a celebrity medium, aka also a film producer, aka self-proclaimed master entrepreneur coach, aka clinical hypnotherapist, aka all taglines she’s given herself. Did she really predict anything reliable in the Madeleine McCann case? Or is it all a crock? You decide!
Michelle then goes on to reveal how psychic Nancy Webber helped the police with the case of Betty Cornish back in 1987. When Betty was found bludgeoned to death in her bed and the Police had no suspects, it was Psychic Nancy who stepped in and accurately told them the name of the killer, where he lived and where the murder weapon was. Hold up, people – it’s THE MUSIC EPISODE! Geordie & Michelle go on a rambling meander of memories, stories, thoughts and nonsense as they talk all things music and the time Geordie met a faded popstar. But first they start with a few apologies, namely Geordie’s atrocious spelling on the Potluck Party episode video trailer where she’s dancing and swigging brown lemonade… Or is she??? 🤣 Ben Mendels gets a shout out, namely because we’ve been sidelining him for Line of Duty chat, and a small discussion follows about whether Aussies still call a toilet ‘the toot’…
Then it’s onto… MUSIC! Having both been in bands for most of their lives, Geordie and Michelle chat about music, songwriting, their bands and how music has slipped away from them both in the past few years. Childhood musical loves from the 80s and 90s are revealed with Michelle’s obsession with Boy George making a questionable appearance. Geordie admits The Cure were responsible for her going through a gothy black-hair phase at school.
Geordie then recounts an excellent story about the time she met Adam Ant - and the moment she binned off an invitation to sing for Dave Stewart. Michelle rambles on about heartbreak songs and tries to explain to Geordie what a torch song is 🤣. Michelle rounds it all off with a pathetic story of love and separation with Sinead O’Connor’s Nothing Compares 2 U as the soundtrack 🤣🤣
The pair talk golden oldies, tunes that have inspired them, random thoughts and reminiscing, while neither of them can remember Men At Work singer Colin Hay’s surname or the name of the song they supposedly really like (it’s called Overkill btw 🤣). You’re invited to our first ever Eavesdroppin’ Pot Luck Party - Australian style, where everyone ‘brings a plate’… which means this episode is a random pile of mini sausage rolls 🤣

So… The girls start off by talking about their first super-cute mini-troll comment on YouTube on the Woody Allen episode - milestone! After some obligatory Line of Duty chat and Michelle wanting to slap the smug face of Patricia Carmichael (OK, so this isn’t in the episode but you know we’re obsessed - is Patricia H??? Why was she tracking AC-12’s cars? Why is she trying to stitch up Kate?? TENSE!!!), we give a couple of shout outs WITH NEW DITTY, including to Deuxième Vague. Geordie wonders who her doppelganger imposter literally running around her neighbourhood is before the pair get into a discussion about Mariel, Margaux and Dree Hemingway, a Nazi Gold documentary and forgotten perfumes of the 70s and 80s.
Beauty gadgets
The first plate Michelle brings to the Pot Luck Party is… Facebook Ads. Specifically vibrating beauty gadgets (of which she has bought many) and earthing sheets. Are they a thing? Can they really heal? Or is it just the placebo effect? We ask a scientist. We're no closer to finding the truth, although the truth is out there apparently...
Ghost sex & zombie dolls
Geordie’s first relationship potluck plate covers the case of Gary De Noia, a 36 year old American who’s worried that his ghost girlfriend is cheating on him. It’s OK, though – the sex is great and he’s now in a threesome with Sadie the unicorn. Yep. Geordie then follows this up with the case of Felicity Kadlec Rossi, 20, who married a flesh-dripping zombie doll after an ‘emotional and intimate’ seven-year relationship - and says they even consummated their marriage. POTLUCK, KIDS, THIS IS POTLUCK!
Coincidence & False Promise synchronicity theory
Michelle rounds out the episode with a savoury plate that looks at coincidence, synchronicity and love. Specifically whether the False Promise Synchronicity theory is really a theory and if that crazy way you met your partner and then saw 17 foxes etc meant that your relationship was ‘meant to be’.

So… It’s the case that's been hanging around since 1992 which has divided Hollywood and has been reignited since the #metoo movement – yes, this week we’re talking about whether or not Woody Allen abused his 7 year old adopted daughter Dylan Farrow and the Allen V. Farrow documentary… How is this a comedy podcast?? 🤣
But first, the girls begin by chatting about THAT end scene in episode 5 of Line of Duty season 6, and if you don’t know the one we mean, MOTHER OF GOD get on it people! Michelle insists that Ben Mendelsohn should have a role in the next season of Line of Duty – #JedMecurio, you’ve been told! Geordie wonders if she crossed a line last week in the Adoption episode by saying her brother had a face like a pan full of fried arseholes when he was a baby. Michelle rabbits on about a bag of Little Golden Books she lost as a child… And all this before getting to the topic at hand: ALLEN V. FARROW.
Yes, we – along with most of the Western World – watched the 4 part doco Allen V. Farrow, which details the injustices and inconsistencies surrounding the child molestation accusations made by Dylan Farrow in 1992 against her adopted father Woody Allen. So Michelle starts off with an apology for any incorrect facts, before immediately saying the case kicked off in 1982 🤣. She then gets into a potted history of the case, talks about Mia’s great haircut in Rosemary’s Baby and a brief discussion about thumb sucking and Daddy Porn. Wha?
While discussing the facts of the case, the pair chat about Woody Allen’s 16 year old lover Babi Christina and his film Manhattan; the convo veers into a reverie for Matt Dillon, agreement that Patrick Swayze was never hot; Rob Lowe having sex in a glass elevator (*FACT it was actually Andrew McCarthy – oops!) and Michelle realises she’s been saying Ralph Macchio’s name wrong her entire life 🤣. FORCED ADOPTIONS: It's been 8 years since Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard apologised to the women of Australia who'd been coerced into adopting out their new born babies against their will. This episode is close to our hearts for so many reasons - listen and all will be revealed...
From the 1940s to the 1970s, more than 250,000 unwed mothers from all over the country were coerced into giving their babies up for adoption in what has become one of the cruellest injustices in Australian history. This week, Geordie and Michelle take a look at some heartbreaking cases from Crown Street Women's Hospital and beyond... after they first discuss good telly, the death of Prince Phillip, truly jaw-dropping royal gaffes and the briefest of Ben Mendelsohn mentions...

Poltergeists: does anyone even call them that anymore? This week, Geordie & Michelle look at three scary London hauntings from the 1930s, the 1950s and the 1970s... But only after Geordie does a swear, there's a brief mention of Eavesdroppin' Patron Saint Ben Mendelsohn, Geordie gives herself 10 Jen points and the pair speak in bad German accents. So... onto the hauntings!
Michelle kicks off the ep with the tale of Alma Fielding and the Thornton Heath haunting. Did Alma's pink porcelain dog really smash? Did Alma really manifest a mouse? Why is no one called Alma anymore? Big questions on this week's episode. Was Alma's house really haunted or was she simply projecting repressed memories... You decide!
Geordie moves onto the notorious case of the Enfield Haunting... Specifically, the BBC show The Reunion and the time she heard it in her car and had to pull over, she was so scared! We hear all about the two Peggys, 11 year old Janet Hodgson and a foul mouthed entity called Bill Wilkins who seems to be in love with Janet and how he haunted their lives for 18 months. This was after the girls used a ouija board... SO PEEPS, REMEMBER, YOUR OUIJA BOARD IS NOT A TOY!!!! Then it's onto the Battersea Poltergeist... sit back, grab a cup of mushroom coffee and let Geordie tell you all about Shirley Hitchings and Donald the poltergeist, who haunted her and her family for 12 YEARS!!!! yep. Whoa. What the actual F. Tapping, hammer toes, flying objects and media skepticism all kept the case alive for more than a decade, but at the end of it all, who really knows whether Donald was real or not or indeed, whether any of us will ever know whether Poltergeists truly exist...
